Ancora troppo giovani per un cuore così pesante
Still too young for such a heavy heart
Feature Documentary, 2024
Ongoing
by Chiara Marini Ferretti and Milena Inge Grigolo
Two directors realize that their hearts have learned to shut down in the face of pain. They embark on a personal healing journey in the city of Milan through an investigation into the act of giving. When they encounter the story of Pippa Bacca, they grasp the power of her message of love and solidarity, and are completely overwhelmed and transformed by it.
Who is Pippa Bacca?
Giuseppina Pasqualino di Marineo, known as Pippa Bacca, was a notable Milanese artist and the niece of Piero Manzoni, remembered especially for her final work. Pippa created the performance Brides on Tour (2008), traveling by hitchhiking while dressed as a bride, with the intention of carrying a message of peace and trust in humanity to countries affected by war. Tragically, her journey was cut short in Turkey, where she was murdered.
In the film Still Too Young for Such a Heavy Heart, directors Chiara Marini Ferretti and Milena Inge Grigolo encounter Pippa’s story; one of the directors had known her personally as a child. In the film, Pippa lends her eyes and heart to the two directors, guiding them to learn how to care for themselves and honor the gifts that exist within and around them. Past and present intertwine, connecting distant yet close journeys—the paths of Chiara and Milena dialogue with and support Pippa’s journey.
